For first time students and students with expired certification
The American Heart Association ACLS provider course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.
Course Content:
Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, the students will enhance their skills and clinical decision making abilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. Students are taught to use the following important concepts:
· Basic Life Support (BLS) Survey
· High-Quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
· ACLS survey
· ACLS algorithms
· Effective resuscitation team dynamics
· Immediate post cardiac arrest care

CEU’s available for EMS personnel through CECBEMS (Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services)

- American Heart Association advanced life support courses for various age groups (ACLS, PALS, NRP, PEARS) are acceptable as continuing education.
- The ASBN will allow ten (10) contact hours for initial training or retraining if it occurs during the two-year timeframe immediately preceding license renewal. (Chapter 2, Section VII, E.1)
- CPR does not count for continuing education.
- A copy of the ACLS, PALS, NRP or PEARS card will suffice as proof of completion. The class roster is not adequate.
You will receive your American Heart Association course completion card on the day of the course.
